Job Title: Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative

Contract Duration: 2+ Months

Location: Shenandoah, TX

Work Type: Onsite, Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm, Friday 7 am - 4 pm

Job Description:

The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, whether for routine health checks or critical health decisions. The PSR II draws high-quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and maintains strict adherence to established protocols. This role involves direct patient contact, fostering trust and confidence, and requires skillful, safe, and accurate blood collection. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, and confidentiality, and may be assigned to various locations based on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
  2. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  3. Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures.
  4. Verify patient demographics and labels, ensuring proper identification and documentation.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  6. Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients and staff.
Job Requirements:
  • Proven ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies, including dress code and safety procedures.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established protocols.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
  • Strong customer service skills and effective communication.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors is a plus.
  • Keyboard/data entry skills.
