Job Description
  • The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their health routine or for health decisions.
  • The PSR II draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures.
  • Creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures and drawing blood skillfully, safely, and accurately.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  • Assignments may vary to a doctor's office, patient service center, or as needed.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
  • Maintain a safe, professional environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing confidently, following established practices.
  • Verify patient demographic info and initials, including post-venipuncture signature, ensuring proper labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong customer focus, open communication, adaptability, and business knowledge.
  • Training locations vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical training preferred (medical assistant, paramedic)
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in CA, NV, WA
Work Experience
  • At least 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, capillary collections
  • Preferably 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sector preferred
  • Keyboard/data entry experience
