Job Description
  • The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health checks or for critical health decisions.
  • The PSR II draws high-quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established practices and procedures.
  • Engages directly with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust, explaining procedures, and performing blood draws safely, accurately, and skillfully.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  • Assignments may include working in a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform daily activities accurately and timely under supervision.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established protocols.
  • Verify patient demographic information, including initials and signatures post-venipuncture, ensuring correct labeling and patient confirmation.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients, clients, and colleagues.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies, including dress code, safety, and company principles.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong customer focus, excellent communication, adaptability, and knowledge of our business.
  • Training locations vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  • At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Experience in customer service within retail or service sectors is preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience.
