Job summary

Mercy Health's Springfield Regional Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Department. You will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and perform clerical tasks to keep the workflow efficient.

The role requires accuracy, strong patient service, and flexibility to travel to off-site locations as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required; phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients with respect and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and match the patient identity with the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens per test orders, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as needed.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
