Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Carbondale, Illinois. You will perform blood collections, process specimens for testing, and ensure accurate data entry and patient care at a client office.

The role requires strong communication, reliable transportation, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training from an accredited agency is acceptable in lieu of work experience.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests.
• Data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis; maintain logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients; assist at client sites.
