Job summary

LabCorp in Carbondale, IL is hiring a Phlebotomist to join our patient-focused team. You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups at an obstetrics/gynecology facility.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, data entry, processing billing, and ensuring accurate logs while delivering superior customer service. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent with 1+ year phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
