Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• New employees requiring CPR should have basic life support (CPR) training within the first week of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages using proper collection techniques and infection control procedures.
• Identify patients accurately and label specimens according to established protocols.
• Process, document, and track specimens within the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Ensure timely specimen collection, handling, and delivery to support efficient laboratory operations.
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, physicians, and coworkers while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Assist with inventory monitoring, supply management, and training of new employees and students.
