Job summary

Baptist Health System KY is hiring a Phlebotomist to draw blood by capillary or venipuncture and label tubes, delivering specimens to the Lab in accordance with policy and procedure, and maintaining an orderly workload with the phlebotomy team.

The role includes front office duties, answering phones, and participating in training, with a 5-day, 8-hour schedule, every third weekend and 1 major/1 minor holiday rotation; high school diploma or equivalent preferred, phlebotomy training preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training or experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to work every 3rd weekend and major/minor holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Draws blood by capillary or venipuncture, labels tubes, and delivers tubes to the Lab according to policy.
• Maintains Order Monitor and organizes workload with phlebotomy staff and other hospital personnel.
• Performs Front Office responsibilities; processes extra tubes including centrifuging and proper storage.
• Loads specimens onto Roche Modular Pre-Analytics (MPA) system.
• Answers telephones and responds to inquiries from hospital personnel, visitors, or others.
• Participates in training procedures as directed by supervisor.
