Job summary

Baptist Health Corbin is seeking a Phlebotomist for PRN third shift in the Clinical Laboratory Services Department. The role involves specimen collection, labeling, accessioning, and transport, with emphasis on patient safety and accurate handling of specimens.

You will work with the LIS to document and track specimens, identify patients, and maintain confidentiality while delivering timely test results and quality service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages using proper collection techniques.
• Accurately identify patients and label specimens per protocols.
• Process and track specimens within the LIS and ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and coworkers while maintaining confidentiality.
• Support quality assurance, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with inventory monitoring and training of new employees and students.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to departmental needs.
