Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan. You will perform blood collections, collect specimens for various tests, and enter patient information accurately.

Travel to additional sites may be required, and excellent customer service is essential. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience; phlebotomy certification or accredited training is acceptable in lieu of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• 2+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred in outpatient lab.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training can substitute for work experience.
• Proven track record in exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
