Job summary

Mercy Health in Toledo, OH is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Department. The Phlebotomist will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for lab testing, and perform clerical duties to keep the department efficient.

You will collect specimens, enter orders, look up results, and respond to calls in a friendly manner. Prior phlebotomy or customer service experience is preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and verify identity for safety.
• Enter orders, look up results, generate reports, and answer calls in a friendly manner.
• Perform data entry and processing of specimens (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing).
• Handle clerical duties such as inventory checks, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
