Job summary

Indiana University Health is the state’s largest healthcare system, seeking a Lab Assistant I to join the Methodist Medical Plaza South location in Indianapolis. You’ll support specimen collection, order entry, and pre-analytic processing in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a phlebotomy program (lab experience preferred), basic computer and telephone skills, and a collaborative team mindset to ensure accurate and timely testing

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training program completed; lab experience preferred.
• May require Indiana driver's license and clean driving history.
• Proficiency with computers and telephone skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides general laboratory services including specimen collection, order entry, blood component preparation, pre-analytic processing and related clerical tasks.
• May be responsible for patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens.
