Job summary

IU Health in Indiana's comprehensive health system is seeking a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant I for day shifts. You will perform specimen collection, enter orders, and handle pre-analytic processing in a fast-paced lab.

Responsibilities include patient/specimen registration and delivery of specimens. Requires HS diploma or GED and phlebotomy training; strong computer, telephone and interpersonal skills are essential for teamwork with the lab staff.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training with lab or biology coursework preferred.
• Indiana driver license may be required.
• Ability to use computers and basic software.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Good telephone skills.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods.
• Additional requirements may be added by consultants.

Responsibilities

• Provide general laboratory services including specimen collection.
• Order entry and pre-analytic processing of specimens.
• Prepare blood components and related clerical tasks.
• Register patients and specimens; deliver specimens when needed.
