Qualifications

• Requires completion of formal phlebotomy training with classroom and on-the-job experience.
• Knowledge of specimen integrity guidelines and laboratory terminology.
• Experience with LIS/HIS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture, micro-capillary collections, central line draws (where applicable) and other test procedures on patients of all age groups by following exact protocols and procedures, including patient preparation prior to testing and administration of various glucose dosages.
• Provides excellent patient service during invasive procedures and maintains positive relations with patients and staff.
• Handles specimen collection, labeling, transport, and timely distribution to ensure high-quality test results and efficient workflow.
• Adheres to infection prevention, safety policies, and confidentiality; follows LIS/HIS procedures and hospital policies.
