Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a phlebotomist to collect quality specimens for laboratory testing and distribute them to proper departments. You will prepare and handle specimens for analysis and ensure accuracy throughout the process.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, communicating with patients and healthcare staff, and maintaining specimen integrity with LIS and HIS systems. Adhere to safety, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must complete a formal phlebotomy program or have 3–4 years of phlebotomy experience.
• OSHA training completed annually per policy.
• Knowledge of specimen integrity and laboratory terminology.

Responsibilities

• Collect quality specimens by venipuncture and other approved methods.
• Provide excellent patient service and communicate with staff across departments.
• Prepare and handle specimens for testing and shipment to reference labs when needed.
• Maintain LIS/HIS workflows and protect patient confidentiality.
