Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join our team in Birmingham, AL. The role involves blood collection, specimen processing and delivering excellent patient service in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with a 1-hour lunch break, at either a Patient Service Center or client site. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and phlebotomy certification or completion of training, with preferred experience.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
