Job summary

Labcorp in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team and support patient care across our laboratory network.

Responsibilities include collecting blood by venipuncture and capillary methods for all ages, data entry, processing billing where required, and travel to additional sites as needed. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and phlebotomy experience; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months or more of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of an accredited training program.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
