Job summary

LabCorp in Birmingham, AL is seeking a phlebotomist to join our patient-first team. You will perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques across diverse age groups and ensure accurate data entry and courteous patient service.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification or training (or at least 3 months experience), and the ability to work Monday-Thursday 7:30am–5:00pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months+ experience as a phlebotomist.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
