Aufgaben

• Obtains and/or verifies receipt of all venous, arterial or capillary blood specimens as requested; divides blood quantities for multiple tests; transports specimens back to the lab.
• Responds to patient emergencies (CPR) to collect specimens as requested.
• Administers dextrose as required for tolerance test.
• Identifies specimens accurately with respect to patient identity and ordered analyses.
• Stocks supplies for assigned area and coordinates ordering.
• Transports blood specimens collected by non-lab personnel to the lab.
• Relays results via pneumatic tube, fax, or mail to proper recipients.
• Obtains urine specimens for forensic drug testing.
• Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
