The Ohio State University University Hospital Outpatient Customer Service is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection, labeling, and processing with a focus on accuracy and quality. The role includes assisting with patient registration and may involve point-of-care testing where applicable.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of relevant experience; phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required.
• Maintains certification status and meets health surveillance requirements.

Responsabilités

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for specimen collection.
• Label, process, and dispatch specimens to testing locations.
• Train others in collection and processing techniques.
• Handle test requisition entry and assist with patient registration and accessioning.
• Greet and direct patients; ensure accuracy of patient information; perform point-of-care testing where applicable.
