Job summary

Carolina Oncology Specialists is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Clinical Operations team in Charlotte, NC. You will collect blood specimens, verify orders, label and transport samples, and document activities in the EMR, while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout oncology treatment.

The role requires phlebotomy training and a high school diploma, with certification preferred. This is a full-time outpatient clinic position within a collaborative care environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of accredited phlebotomy training is preferred.
• Current phlebotomy certification preferred (ASCP, NHA, NCCT or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Verify patient identity and orders before collection.
• Label, process, and transport specimens for testing.
• Maintain specimen integrity and document in EMR.
• Provide compassionate patient care and address concerns.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and safety standards.
