Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and process specimens in the medical laboratory. The role requires adherence to safety policies and accurate specimen handling to meet turnaround times.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and a certified phlebotomist credential (ASCP, AMT, NHA, ACA, NPCE or NCCT) and demonstrated English proficiency. This is a day shift position within the Medical Oncology department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, AMT, NHA, ACA, NPCE or NCCT is required.
• English proficiency in reading, writing and speaking is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction for questions or problems regarding specimen acceptability and difficult draws.
• Perform accurate collection and receipt of specimens per laboratory protocols.
• Follow hospital policies for universal precautions, safety and chain of custody.
