Qualifications

• One year of experience in laboratory work performing laboratory procedures.
• A current Phlebotomist certification is required.
• Education can substitute for part of the experience as described.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory procedures such as preparation of media and basic slides and smears.
• Conducts non-technical routine laboratory tests and procedures.
• Sets up and operates laboratory equipment for specimen examinations.
• Opens, numbers and arranges specimens for laboratory examination.
• Maintains simple laboratory records and inventory for supplies and reagents.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area following standard laboratory practices.
