Job summary

Life Line Screening is actively seeking a Phlebotomist to join our community healthcare team in Bloomington, IN. The role involves venipuncture, sample labeling, and processing, with a focus on patient care and accuracy.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of venipuncture experience, strong customer service skills, and willingness to cross-train in additional health screenings. A valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience with adult venipuncture.
• Experience with centrifuge and separating specimens.
• Desire to provide unparalleled customer service.
• Great attention to detail and organization.
• Willing to cross train for additional health screenings.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records for accuracy and completeness.
• Label and ensure all samples are accurately identified.
• Set up and prepare all equipment and supplies for venipuncture procedure.
• Venipuncture and finger-sticks.
• Centrifuge blood sample as outlined in clinical protocol provided.
• Monitor patients for reactions as well as ensure the quality of the sample.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and comfort while meeting customer service expectations throughout the process.
• Oversee proper sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work areas between patients.
• Utilize PPE correctly to ensure safety of coworkers and patients.
• Label transfer tubes and follow exact directions for handling and storing specimens for transport.
• Properly package and ship specimens to central lab daily.
• Cross train and participate in Medical Assistant duties including Ankle Brachial Index, Osteoporosis, AFIB, Registration screening areas.
