Job summary

AHMC HealthCare is seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to support phlebotomy, send-outs, and billing in a multi-discipline lab. The role requires strong LIS skills, teamwork, and the ability to work independently to assist in chemistry, hematology, and microbiology areas.

You should have 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, CPT certification, BCLS, and capable communication in English. This is an on-site position requiring reliable computer and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AA/bachelor's preferred.
• Min. 2 years as a phlebotomist.
• Certified for venipuncture and skin puncture CPT.
• English communication in writing and speaking.
• At least 4 years in a clinical lab with 2 years in technician/lead roles or equivalent.
• 2+ years LIS experience and computer proficiency.
• Good organizational skills.
• Experience with automated chemistry, hematology or microbiology instruments.
• BCLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain.

Responsibilities

• Assist phlebotomy and processing area duties.
• Support send-out tests and lab billing aspects.
• Answer telephone and coordinate lab duties.
• Work under supervision with CLS and technicians.
• Maintain LIS capability and troubleshoot processing issues.
