Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Support Tech - Satellite to support satellite lab operations, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic testing workflows. Qualifications

• Phlebotomy program completion or relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CLIA guidelines proof.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and moderate complexity testing under supervision.
• Performs diagnostic testing of specimens and reports results.
• Performs quality control and maintenance of instruments.
• Prepares and performs EKG procedures for outpatient and inpatients.
• Collaborates with main lab staff and other departments to ensure patient care.
• May require work at multiple Satellite locations and on-call duties.
• Prioritizes tests with lab staff to ensure timely results.
• Identifies and resolves problems with supervisor if needed.
• Follows patient safety goals and uses two patient identifiers; handwashing.
• Performs phlebotomy and other specimen collections with post-collection care.
• Understands and performs system quality control and QA tests.
• Uses reagents cost-effectively.
• Responds to customer calls and reports test results over the phone.
