EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA is seeking a competent Phlebotomy Technician to join our laboratory services team. You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections across patient age groups, process specimens, and enter orders in the LIS while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities include patient registration related phlebotomy in various settings, maintaining quality communication with clinicians and staff, and adhering to WA MA-P certification requirements and lab protocols.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; WA MA-P certification required or in process.
• Certification from an approved phlebotomy-training program with internship preferred or relevant work experience.
• Medical terminology knowledge requirement.
• WA State Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist (MA-P) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary puncture blood sample collections for patients of all ages, correctly identifying and labeling specimens.
• Uses LIS or lab systems to resolve issues accurately and promptly.
• Processes specimens per protocol, including handling, centrifugation, storage, packaging and transport.
• Collects insurance/financial information for proper billing and ABN/MSPQ documentation as needed.
• Enters orders and patient demographics into the LIS.
• Answer calls with accuracy and courtesy using best customer service practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
