Job summary

Mercy Health Anderson Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Department. The Phlebotomist draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and handles clerical tasks to keep the department efficient.

Responsibilities include order entry, result look-up, report generation, greeting patients, collecting specimens, ensuring correct patient identification, and data entry. Education: High School Degree or GED; Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required; one

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required
• One year phlebotomy or customer-service experience preferred
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with respectful service
• Collect specimens according to procedures and ensure proper processing
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with service
• Handle data entry and specimen processing (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing) as per test orders
• Perform clerical duties like inventory checks, stocking supplies, and answering phones
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly
• Other duties as assigned
