Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System is seeking a Lab Assistant to perform phlebotomy and essential lab support. The role ensures accurate specimen handling, labeling, and timely processing within a busy clinical lab.

You will assist with routine tests, maintain equipment, and support data entry in LIS/EMR while upholding safety and regulatory standards. Opportunities for growth and hands-on training are available.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and medical terminology.
• Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on lab equipment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills for timely tasks.
• Effective communication with laboratory staff, providers, and patients.
• Attention to safety, HIPAA, and lab compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine tests and follow lab protocols.
• Prepare and process specimens, ensure labeling and transport.
• Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment; report malfunctions.
• Perform finger sticks, venipunctures, and heel sticks per policy.
• Ensure safety and infection control standards in all tasks.
• Log procedures and specimen data in LIS/EMR accurately.
• Support QC/QA documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Stock supplies and maintain inventory.
