Qualifications

• Completion of a lab assistant training or phlebotomy program or equivalent
• H.S. Diploma or GED required
• 1–2 years experience in a lab, healthcare, or clinical setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist laboratory staff in routine tests and adhere to proper protocols.
• Prepare and process specimens, label, store and transport as required.
• Maintain and troubleshoot basic lab equipment and report malfunctions.
• Handle phlebotomy procedures including finger sticks and venipunctures.
• Ensure safety, infection control and HIPAA compliance in all tasks.
• Document procedures and specimen information in LIS/EMR.
• Stock and inventory lab supplies; keep work areas clean and organized.
