Two levels (Phlebotomist I and II) offer starting pay details with requirement differences, including a 100-hour training baseline and one year of experience for II. CPR/BLS, a valid IL license, and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or higher.
• Phlebotomy training with at least 100 clinical hours completed.
• Current CPR/BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Valid Illinois driver's license and auto insurance.
• Phlebotomist II requires at least one year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, collect, log and label specimens for testing under supervision.
• Perform pre-analytical processing and ordering of specimens for arrival in the lab.
• Register patient information and orders in the computer system.
• Arrange specimens for further processing by the Laboratory staff.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Phlebotomist Inpatient
• Location: Edward Hospital 801 S. Washington St. Naperville, IL.
• Full-time: 1.0 FTE (40 hrs./week)
• Hours: 5am-1:30pm Monday -Friday; Includes every other weekend and holiday rotations

What will you do :

• Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures prepares, collects, logs and labels specimens for testing.
• Performs pre-analytical processing/ordering of specimens arriving in the lab.
• Registers patient information and orders laboratory tests in the computer system.
• Arranges specimens for further processing by Laboratory staff.

What you will need:

Phlebotomist I

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program including a minimum of 100 clinical training hours
• Current CPR (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License and auto insurance
• Starting rate: $19.25/hr.

Phlebotomist II

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License and auto insurance
• Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience required
