Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Phlebotomist-Outpatient at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This part-time role (0.5 FTE, ~20 hrs/week) performs specimen collection, labeling, and pre-analytical processing and enters patient orders in the lab system.

Hours are Monday–Friday with alternating weekends and holidays, shifts start between 7:00–8:00am or 3:30–4:30pm. Required: High School diploma or equivalent, completion of a phlebotomy program with 100 clinical hours, current CPR (BLS), and a valid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy training program with a minimum of 100 clinical hours.
• Current CPR (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
• Valid Illinois Driver's License and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, collect, log and label specimens for testing under supervision.
• Perform pre-analytical processing and ordering of specimens arriving in the lab.
• Register patient information and orders in the computer system.
• Arrange specimens for further processing by Laboratory staff.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Phlebotomy training program with 100 clinical hours

Current CPR (BLS) by American Heart Association

Valid Illinois Driver's License and auto insurance

Position Highlights

• Position: Phlebotomist-Outpatient
• Location: Edward Hospital 801 S. Washington St. Naperville, IL.
• Alternate Locations: Available to work at alternate Outpatient facilities affiliated with Edward Hospital
• Part Time: 0.5 FTE (about 20 hrs./week)
• Hours: Monday-Friday with alternating weekends and holidays: Start time between 7am and 8am to 3:30pm and 4:30pm

What Will You Do

• Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures prepares, collects, logs and labels specimens for testing.
• Performs pre-analytical processing/ordering of specimens arriving in the lab.
• Registers patient information and orders laboratory tests in the computer system.
• Arranges specimens for further processing by Laboratory staff.

What You Will Need

Phlebotomist I

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program including a minimum of 100 clinical training hours
• Current CPR (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
• Valid Illinois Driver's License and auto insurance
• Starting rate: $19.25/hr.

Phlebotomist II

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
• Valid Illinois Driver's License and auto insurance
• Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience required
