Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist II in Silver Spring, MD, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with rotational weekends. Starting pay ranges from $23.20 to $24.90 per hour, with potential annual bonus eligibility based on performance.

The role requires three years of phlebotomy experience, data entry skills, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays. High school diploma is required; phlebotomy certification is preferred, especially outside CA/NV/WA.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions per training.
• Verify orders using lab systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required according to policies.
• Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep).
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email).
• Read and comply with department policies and protocols.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions as needed.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature) timely.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
