Under the Phlebotomist Lead, you will maintain inventory, remove expired supplies, explain procedures to patients, and respond to inquiries.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year phlebotomy experience in a laboratory, ambulatory, or healthcare setting.
• Phlebotomy techniques knowledge and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens using proper techniques and in compliance with standards.
• Accurately label samples and route to correct laboratory for processing.
• Maintain an efficient lab schedule and support workflow throughout shift.
• Manage lab inventory, remove expired supplies, restock materials.
• Explain procedures to patients and address questions to ensure comfort.
• Communicate with clinical staff regarding patient needs and specimen concerns.
• Identify and escalate changes in patient condition to clinical personnel.
• Operate point-of-care testing equipment and perform EKGs as requested.
• Document all patient interactions, specimen information, and testing details.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure a positive, safe patient environment.
• Initiate chart preparation at least 14 days prior to lab appointment; review and place orders per standards.
