Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in Florida seeks a Phlebotomist Tech II to perform routine blood collection across all age groups, including neonates and geriatrics, and to assist with specimen processing and receiving in the Laboratory. Under supervision, you will register patients and specimens, assume daily lead responsibilities, and manage patient flow to support efficient lab operations.

Experience with phlebotomy, strong customer service, and the ability to follow written and verbal

Qualifications

Minimum of two (2) years of phlebotomy experience with all age groups.
Phlebotomy certification with a national agency recognized by AHCA; or must obtain within six (6) months of hire/transfer date.
Ability to follow written/verbal instructions.
Preferred: previous experience in patient registration.
Preferred: one (1) year experience with SMHCS in primary role.
Preferred: strong customer service and good judgment when interacting with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Perform routine blood collection on all age groups including neonates, infants, and the elderly.
Demonstrate knowledge to perform specimen processing and receiving in the Laboratory.
Register patients and specimens with competence.
Assume daily lead responsibilities and manage patient flow.
Contribute to problem solving within the laboratory operations.
