Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II in Houston, TX, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotational weekends. The role involves specimen collection, data entry, and ensuring accurate order verification in a fast-paced lab environment.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of phlebotomy experience, strong data entry skills, and flexibility to cover weekends and holidays. A high school diploma is required, with medical training or phlebotomy certification preferred where

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information, collecting payments per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, sanitation, filing, phones and emails.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission as required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and logs for temperature or maintenance.
