You will ensure proper labeling, testing order verification, and specimen handling while maintaining strict safety standards and regulatory compliance. This contract role offers onsite work with opportunities for skill development and teamwork.

Qualificações

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
• 24 years of overall experience in a related healthcare or laboratory environment.
• Proficiency in performing blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Strong phlebotomy skills, including specimen collection, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing.
• Ability to match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and verify test orders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for basic documentation and communication tasks.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to understand and interpret physicians orders related to laboratory testing.
• Knowledge of OSHA and DEP regulations and safety compliance.

Responsabilidades

• Perform venipuncture and blood draws with accuracy and care.
• Collect and store blood, urine, fecal, and other specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process to patients to ensure comfort.
• Verify test orders and match requisitions to tubes for 100% accuracy.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check requisitions against labels before processing.
• Package specimens for transport maintaining integrity and temperature.
• Store specimens at appropriate temperatures and containers.
• Follow protocols to ensure specimens are suitable for transport and testing.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and maintain a safe environment.
• Attend annual trainings and stay updated on procedures and safety.
• Answer inquiries professionally and assist with troubleshooting.
• Assist with training others on phlebotomy techniques and specimen handling.
