Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Phlebotomist II at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role is full-time with first and second shifts, Monday–Friday, and rotating weekends/holidays. Requires venipuncture skills, basic lab operations, and patient-focused service.

Education includes a high school diploma; phlebotomy certification preferred and CPR-BLS certified. Experience of at least one year in phlebotomy is expected. Benefits and competitive pay discussed during recruitment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required and CPR-BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently performs accurate venipuncture and capillary specimen collection for all inpatients and outpatients for all age groups.
• May collect body fluids or other samples including nasal and throat swabs, and breath samples.
• Operates HIS and LIS and other resources to address needs of lab service areas.
• Prepares and assists in processing of blood and body fluid samples per guidelines.
• Assist in orientation and training of phlebotomy staff and students.
• Identify and address problems and notify lead/supervisory personnel as needed.
• Assist with inventory management duties.
• Ensure customer requests for Laboratory services are addressed promptly.
• Provide phone coverage and maintain professional appearance and customer-oriented behavior.
