The position requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR-BLS certification, and phlebotomy training experience. Strong communication and customer service skills, along with reliable transportation, are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• CPR-BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required by AHA; ASCP certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred.
• Good communication and organization skills; moderate computer skills.
• Reliable transportation to travel between sites; strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Supervisor/Manager/Director.
• Order tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and document lab receipt of specimens.
• Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and age/population served.
• Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring correct volume and tubes.
