Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Certification: CPR-BLS for Healthcare Provider required (AHA); ASCP certification preferred.
• Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred.
• Unique or preferred skills: good communication, organization, computer skills, transportation between sites, customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special phlebotomy procedures as directed by supervisor.
• Order tests into lab systems and document specimen receipt.
• Collect patient specimens according to test requirements and patient age.
• Collect blood samples ensuring correct volume and tubes.
