Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Tampa, FL is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support patient testing. Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Saturday 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

The successful candidate will collect specimens, perform data entry, and adhere to safety and quality procedures. A minimum of three years phlebotomy experience and a high school diploma are required; phlebotomy certification is preferred. Compensation starts at $21.70 per hour with potential bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification may be required in some states (CA/NV/WA).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, and email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compiling statistics and maintaining phlebotomy logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
