Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Houston, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist II to join our team on Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with rotational weekends. The role involves collecting specimens and ensuring orders are verified in lab systems.

Candidates should have at least three years phlebotomy experience, data-entry proficiency, and flexibility for weekends/overtime. A high school diploma is required; phlebotomy certification is preferred. English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Verify orders and enter data using lab technology systems.
• Navigate computer systems and enter billing information accurately when required.
• Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport preparation).
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training courses in a timely manner.
