Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II to join our West Valley City team. This role collects specimens according to established procedures, performs basic data entry, and supports non-patient facing tasks as needed.

Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime as required. The ideal candidate has at least three years of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones and email.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
