Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Waldorf, MD, seeks a Phlebotomist II to collect specimens and support patient care during Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–4:45 PM with weekend rotations. The role includes handling specimens, data entry, and interacting with clients in a fast-paced lab environment.

Candidates should have at least three years of phlebotomy experience, strong computer skills, and valid licensure where required.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends/holidays/on-call/overtime.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify test orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments as required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitation, filing, emails/phones.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics/data submission when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training courses timely.
