Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist II to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The role involves collecting specimens, entering data, and supporting lab operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will navigate lab systems, verify orders, and ensure accurate billing while maintaining compliant records. A strong foundation in phlebotomy and customer service is required.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience and ability to navigate lab systems.
• Flexible schedule with weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify test/client orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties including inventory, stocking, sanitizing, and answering phones.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
