Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Phlebotomist II to perform blood draws and specimen collections across multiple clinic locations in the Chicago area. You will handle processing and preparation for testing while delivering high-quality patient care.

You will travel between sites, join a float pool, and follow safety and infection control protocols. Training is provided during initial weeks, with a schedule Monday–Friday and rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy skills and venipuncture proficiency across adults and pediatrics.
• Ability to handle multiple locations and travel between clinics.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using straight or butterfly needles for diverse age groups.
• Collect and store blood, urine, and other specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and collection steps to patients to ease comfort.
• Match requisition forms to tubes and ensure labeling accuracy.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Transport specimens following protocol to maintain integrity.
• Attend trainings and stay updated on phlebotomy practices and regulations.
• Respond to calls and relay results professionally.
• Manage high-volume draws with accuracy and care.
• Float between Chicago area clinics and report to sites per schedule.
