Job summary

Penn Medicine in Philadelphia seeks a Level II Phlebotomist for a Part-time 3rd Shift. You will work as an independent, experienced member of the phlebotomy team, performing a broad range of collections with accuracy and safety.

You will mentor Level I staff, troubleshoot routine challenges, and maintain strong organizational and time-management skills while entering patient demographics and test orders into EMR/LIS and ensuring proper specimen labeling and timely collection.

Qualifications

• American Society for Clinical Pathology (Required).
• Certification as a PBT or MLA by a knowledge-based exam such as ASCP.
• H.S. Diploma/GED required and 4+ years phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Identifies stage of growth of patients and communicates appropriately.
• Uses growth knowledge when communicating to age groups and explains information clearly.
• Labels specimens with 100% accuracy and performs timely sample collection.
• Maintains a safe, orderly work area and adheres to SOPs and HIPAA regulations.
• Enter patient demographics and test orders into EMR/LIS accurately.
