Billings Clinic is seeking a Phlebotomist I to collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, including blood draws. The role emphasizes patient-centered care across age groups and requires following procedures to maintain specimen integrity.

Shift is per diem with wage starting at $17.00 to $21.25 per hour. The position supports a Magnet-recognized hospital renowned for teamwork and safety culture, located in Billings, MT.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification coursework or phlebotomy experience.
• BLS within 180 days of employment.
• Mathematics and science coursework preferred.
• On-the-job training available.

Responsabilités

• Collect and prepare patient specimens including blood, urine, sputum, and cultures.
• Coordinate specimen collection with physicians and nursing staff, including central lines or IV draws.
• Enter orders and charges in computerized systems; generate reports and resolve inquiries.
• Coordinate with care team for test availability, turnaround times, and special procedures.
• Provide patient instructions for home specimen collection and coordinate follow-up on collection errors.
• Provide back-up coverage to laboratory positions on various shifts and assist with phones and requisitions.
• Maintain inventory and keep the work area clean and compliant with policies.
