Job summary

Billings Clinic is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist in Billings, MT. The incumbent collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring patient comfort and specimen integrity.

Responsibilities include coordinating with physicians and nursing staff, entering orders, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Minimum qualifications include Phlebotomy Certification or related experience, with on-the-job training available and preferred coursework in math and science.

Qualifications

• Completion of Phlebotomy Certification coursework or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• On the job training available.
• Courses in mathematics and science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects and prepares patient specimens: blood, urine, sputum, and cultures.
• Coordinate specimen collection with physicians and nursing staff.
• Utilize computerized systems to enter laboratory orders, patient charges, generate reports, answer inquiries and resolve problems.
• Provide back up to laboratory positions on days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and a neat, orderly work area.
• Promotes quality patient relations and confidentiality.
• Adheres to all laboratory policies and regulations.
