Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist I in Carmichael, CA. The position requires a state phlebotomy license (CA, WA, NV licensing caveat) and offers a part-time schedule, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM with rotational weekends.

Pay range is $22.20 – $24.55 per hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus; full benefits are included for eligible hours. English communication is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screenings, etc.).
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Follow departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with statistics/data submissions.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature, etc.).
• Complete training courses timely.
